2025 WNBA Championship Odds: Liberty Lead Early Favorites After Hot Start

The New York Liberty are positioned as the early frontrunners in the 2025 WNBA Championship odds following their historic title win in 2024. Opening the season at +230 to repeat, their odds have since shortened to +130 after an undefeated start.

In 2024, the Liberty capped off an exceptional season by securing their first championship in franchise history. They posted a 32-8 regular season record, matching a team-best, and claimed the No. 1 seed. The 2025 campaign began with a statement victory over the Las Vegas Aces, the defending champions from 2022 and 2023, defeating them 92-78 on May 17.

Nearly a month into the new season, New York remains unbeaten at 8-0. DraftKings Sportsbook updated its title odds on June 8, confirming the Liberty’s strengthened hold as favorites. Minnesota, last season’s runner-up to the Liberty in the Finals, holds firm in the second spot on the odds board at +380.

Meanwhile, BetMGM Sportsbook had New York listed as preseason favorites at +225, just ahead of the Aces at +275. The Indiana Fever, led by Caitlin Clark, entered with -300 odds. Clark, who won Rookie of the Year last season, opened 2025 with a dominant performance and continues to be a key contributor with averages of 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.

2025 WNBA Championship Odds

Here’s how to interpret odds listed at online sportsbooks:

  • Las Vegas Aces: -250
  • Chicago Sky: +330
  • Connecticut Sun: +500

A minus symbol denotes the betting favorite. For example, a -250 line on the Aces means a $250 bet would net a $100 profit. A $100 wager would return $140 total — $100 stake plus $40 profit.

Last season, Las Vegas reached the Finals for the third year in a row. A’ja Wilson set a league record with 26.9 points per game and added 11.9 rebounds, securing her third MVP title. Despite that performance, the Aces are off to a modest 4-3 start this year.

Other teams to monitor include the Dallas Wings, who added UConn standout Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 draft pick, and the Indiana Fever, building around Clark’s continued growth. Chicago and Connecticut also round out the contenders with solid starts and positive odds movement.
