Brian Rolapp to Lead PGA Tour Enterprises as First-Ever CEO

Brian Rolapp, a veteran NFL executive, has been appointed as the inaugural CEO of the PGA Tour’s newly established commercial division. The move was confirmed Thursday, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reporting the news.

The new position is part of the PGA Tour Enterprises arm, created following a framework agreement in 2023 with Saudi investors backing LIV Golf. Jay Monahan will continue as commissioner, while Rolapp will handle the business expansion side, especially with the support of a $1.5 billion investment from Strategic Sports Group (SSG).

Rolapp joined the NFL in 2003, rising to Executive Vice President and Chief Media and Business Officer in 2017. His media experience, including roles at NBC Universal and the NFL Network, positions him to lead the PGA Tour as it plans future media deals and commercial growth.

His appointment was confirmed by an anonymous source familiar with the Tour’s internal developments, though the Tour has yet to issue a formal statement.

The CEO position was created to spearhead the for-profit arm, PGA Tour Enterprises, and will report directly to the PGA Tour’s Policy Board and the enterprise’s board of directors. Arthur Blank, Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Joe Gorder, Sam Kennedy, and Monahan were all part of the search committee.

This move comes as the Tour continues to reshape its business to remain competitive with LIV Golf, including major broadcast negotiations and format changes such as revamping the Tour Championship.
