Following a disappointing end to the 2024-25 NFL season, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has issued a strong message during Organized Team Activities (OTAs) — the former champions are more motivated than ever to return to Super Bowl glory.
The Chiefs ended their season with a 17-3 record but fell short in Super Bowl LIX, suffering a 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. The loss has fueled an intense offseason for Mahomes and his teammates, who are already gearing up for what he describes as a “revenge tour.”
While Mahomes’ primary focus remains reclaiming the Lombardi Trophy, he continues to expand his presence off the field. He recently announced a partnership with Airbnb, offering fans a chance to meet the two-time MVP.
In addition, as a minority owner of the Kansas City Royals, Mahomes keeps a close eye on the franchise’s development. His excitement was evident upon learning about top prospect Jac Caglianone’s promotion to the major leagues. Caglianone, ranked the No. 10 prospect in baseball, has been on a tear — batting .322 with 15 home runs, 56 RBIs, and 41 runs scored over 50 games.
As the Chiefs prepare for the upcoming season, one of the most pressing issues remains the offensive line — particularly at left tackle. The franchise has not had a first-team All-Pro at that position since 2004.
For the 2025-26 campaign, the role is expected to go to either free agent acquisition Jaylon Moore or rookie first-round pick Josh Simmons. Both players will be tested early and often.
Kansas City will begin its 2025 season with an international clash in Brazil against division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers. In Week 2, the Chiefs will host a high-stakes rematch against the Eagles.
The early schedule poses significant challenges for the Chiefs’ offensive line, with matchups against top-tier pass rushers such as Khalil Mack, Abdul Carter, Brian Burns, Kyle Van Noy, and Odafe Oweh in the first month of play.
Despite the hurdles ahead, Mahomes appears focused and determined to lead Kansas City back to the Super Bowl. With his leadership and a roster seeking redemption, the Chiefs are poised to be one of the league’s most dangerous teams in the 2025 NFL season.
